Self Portrait Process

In order to get the original photo of me how I wanted, I put on some makeup, then I took blue, purple, and white candles and melted the wax on my face. In the process of getting the wax off, I actually ripped out a few eyelashes, and burnt a little of my hair. The things we do for art am I right?

Anyways, once I got that picture, and another drawing I did of myself, I basically cut up my face in photoshop, then I put the pieces back together again.

I wanted it to look a bit creepy, while also still being visually appealing. I was originally going to smooth out the edges on the lips, but I decided that I liked the slight imperfection of it. Most of it is pictures of my face, and the blue is a picture of a wave. I thought it would be interesting to use the wave, and make wave-esk shapes with it, while simultaneously not using the shape of the original wave.
